Hi, I'm Stef. After spending the last few years working with my parents at The Fig Tree Kennels & Cattery and gaining extensive hands-on experience with all types of dogs, including rescues, I've decided to start my own home boarding business. I still live at home, so I operate in the same location as The Fig Tree, but I am a separate business & have my parents' full support. Growing up around dogs, thanks to my mum's background in rescue, behavior, and grooming, has taught me how to understand their needs, be patient, and be a strong, balanced leader. I'm fully trained in pet first aid and licensed by Chelmsford Council as a 5 star facility. I love spending time outdoors on hikes and nature walks, with our well-mannered dogs, Foofy and Oni who will also be on hand to help welcome our new furry guests!

 

 

 

Your furbaby will be welcomed into our home and looked after as though they are one of our own! They will enjoy at least one 40-minute off-site walk (if able enough) and have access to the kennels' playing field twice daily for fun and interaction with other friendly dogs and of course access to our very large private garden throughout the day. On arrival i will take lots of details about your dog so that i can help them settle quickly and get to know their likes & dislikes. There is no strict routine here, so i can adapt the day to suit all the dogs needs. You will also recieve updates via pics and videos when you request them.

I ask that you bring your dogs own food and bedding to help them settle quickly, the food will ensure no upset tummies due to food change, and their bedding from home will allow them to smell themselves inside our home and feel they belong. I have plenty of toys for them to enjoy, but please feel free to bring some with you if you prefer. Please ensure you provide a bag with their name on with the food and bedding.​ If your dog requires medication please have it clearly labelled with instructions on how and when to administer, again, i will take information for this too on arrival.

Ideally, your dog will be social, as we typically host 3-4 dogs at a time, plus our own. The dogs will get play time together and structured walks, but will eat and sleep separately. I understand some may prefer not to be with other dogs, so please reach out to see how & if I can accommodate your pet.

All dogs that have not stayed with either myself or at The Fig Tree kennels before, are required to have a 2 day trial to ensure they fit in well for their stay ahead. I can still get your holiday booked in and will refund the deposit if the trial isn't successful or will put the deposit off until after the trial, depending on how far ahead it is.

​​​​​​​​​I charge by the day not night, which means 1 night equals 2 days, the day of arrival & day of departure are charged at a full day, regardless of the collection time. I allow drop off and collections on Sundays on a restricted time schedule, and again charged at a full days rate. There's no collections or drop off on Bank holidays. I charge double for Christmas day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

I require a 50% deposit to secure your pets booking.

I require at least 2 weeks notice if you need to cancel in order for a full refund, otherwise the 50% is non-refundable.

 

For all sociable dog friendly dogs

 

Small - Medium dogs 12 months & over are £31 per day (up to springer spaniel size)

Large dogs 12 months & over are £33 per day (Labrador to Shepherd size)

​

Giant dogs 12 months & over are £38 per day (From Akita size)

​

All puppies 12 months & under are £35 per day

​

I offer a 10% discount for 2 dogs from the same household & 15% for 3 dogs from the same household.

For dogs that aren't sociable with other dogs the price is £40 per day If I can accommodate them, so please get in touch to discuss.
